Bowl Used: I change between Tiger, Tiger Pro and Classic II depending on the surface.
Why do you use this bowl? My Tiger bowls tend to suit all heavier greens and greens with narrow running hands such as outdoors. They also compliment back end play on slow to medium paced indoor surfaces. I have used the same set of Classic II for many years and began bowling indoors using Classic II so this is the bowl that I can rely on especially on medium to fast indoor surfaces. I would never part with them. I also love my Tiger Pro, they do a very similar job to my Classic II and are available in some superb, innovative Slice colours. I've got my next set on order!
Carrer Goals Winning the World Indoor Singles has always been my ultimate goal. After many yearsof being the nearly man, to finally cement a place in the World's top 16 would also be very pleasing.
Career Highlights My very first major achievment was being part of the Northumberlands U25 Double Fours side as a 15 year old in 2000, we won the All England Tirle for the first and only time in the Counties history. My first major singles success will always be a highlight, winning the English and British U25 singles as a 19 year old. My biggest success is without doubt winning the televised Welsh Open event on the World Bowls Tour in 2009. On the back of that, finishing third in the Matchroom Sports Premier League Bowls amongst the biggest names in the game.
Achievements Former WBT Welsh International Open Champion
Former English and British Isles U25 Singles Winner
Former Egland and U25 Captain and Full England International
Current Welsh International after moving to Swansea in 2011
Several other National Titles
What would you do if you weren't bowling? I'd definitely have a season ticket for Newcastle United and going to support them at every opportunity. I'd also probably play quite a bit of golf and help improve my handicap. With a baby son on the way before Christmas, I'm pretty sure my spare time will be spent enjoying making family memories.
